The idea for this article originated from the wise counsel of King Solomon – that with all of our getting, we should get understanding. Solomon saw the supremacy of understanding. Increasing absence of truth in American discourse challenges everyone in knowing truth.    The length of this writing was necessitated by the need to convincingly demonstrate half a dozen patterns. Those who elect to read this article will discover that much can be learned by establishing the trajectories of those trends.

A Dozen of Many Faces – A Culture of Lying

Obama, the Reincarnation of Lincoln

Obama began his job with his hand on the Lincoln Bible, after he consciously set out to invite comparisons with the greatest American president who ever lived, with his slow train rideretracing Lincoln’s journey to Washington D.C.  Within his first six months on the job, it would become apparent to millions of Americans that Obama would not be putting on Lincoln’s mantle of greatness.  President Abraham Lincoln often visited hospitals to talk with wounded soldiers during the Civil War; Barack Obama would rather play a round of golf than spend quality time with injured American soldiers.  Lincoln loved people; to Obama, people are mere pawns to produce and perpetuate his power. Lincoln was forced by national circumstances to fight; Obama voluntarily remakes an already great country.  Lincoln was compelled to fight a crisis, not of his own making; Obama seeks crisis as “an opportunity to do things you couldn't do before”.  Lincoln was a commoner; Obama is an elitist.  Lincoln modeled the humble man; Obama seeks stardom.  Lincoln embodied truth; Obama routinely skews the truth.  Lincoln modeled godliness; Obama is his own god.  Lincoln purposed to free the enslaved; Obama’s goal is to enslave the free.  Wise King Solomon said, “The borrower is the slave of the lender.” Obama invited comparison, but instead got contrast. Obama enjoyed a notoriety that approximated fame, but could never attain to the greatness of Lincoln, instead standing inconsequential in Lincoln’s long shadow. Obama promised us Lincoln, but gave us Jimmy Carter. Obama lied.

Obama, the Christian

While Obama professed Christianity openly, his whole career voting record shows he's comfortable with even the most extreme forms of abortion and would block all attempts to limit them.  And his aversion to telling the truth is becoming common knowledge. Obama kept the charade that he was a Christian until November 5, 2008 to enable a sucker-punch to what we had always perceived as a Christian country. Post-election, Obama would seldom darken the door of any Christian institution, and withheld any reasonable support of Christian events, such as the National Day of Prayer. Obama's cafeteria-style approach to Christianity found kindred spirit with a youthful generation, nurtured in the vacuum of God-vacated education. Obama’s feigned Christianity was a use of dishonest means to secure votes -- also known as cheating. Obama lied.

Obama, the Centrist

The candidate, Obama, positioned himself as a moderate centrist. Post-election, Obama rapidly morphed into a rabid, ultra-radical Liberal. Obama feigned centrist thinking in order to secure Moderate and Independent election support. More cheating. Obama lied.

Obama, the Uniter

Many of the most powerful Christian voices in America have come from the African-American community.  Until recently, the African American community chose its leaders from its ranks of spiritual leaders.  The Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) originated, as its name suggests, as a Christian organization.  Two ministers of the gospel, Rev. Ralph David, Abernathy and Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr, formed it.      Martin Luther King's assertion that people should be judged not by the color of their skin – the outward – but by the content of their characters – the inward – is a remarkable application of Samuel's "Man looketh upon the outward countenance, but God looketh upon the heart." But then radical Liberal Obama ushered in a new order.  The same Liberals who complained about evangelical pastors ministering moral conduct in living and voting looked the other way when thousands of predominately African-American churches and their pastors used their pulpits to praise Barack Obama, and not the Savior of the World.  T.D. Jakes, Creflo Dollar, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Rev. Al Sharpton, Rev. Jeremiah Wright and other African American leaders were silent in defense of the gospel, choosing instead to sell Biblical values for 30 pieces of silver.  The outward – race – would trump the inward – character and godliness.  In a clear triumph of the new order over the old order, 96% of African-Americans voted for a Barack Obama – near unanimity.  Thus the beginning of the Civil Rights movement in America can be traced to Rosa Parks in the bus, and its end can be identified as Martin Luther King's dream of judging people by the content of their characters being thrown under the bus.  Radical Liberals want to keep everyone’s focus on the color of skin by affixing the racist label to everyone who doesn’t enthusiastically support the Obama agenda. Under Obama’s leadership, race would be used as a tool to divide, and a weapon to destroy. By design, the post-racial and post-partisan worlds that Obama promised would not be forthcoming. Obama lied.

Obama, the Progressive

Our radical Liberal leadership has assumed the politically correct name of “Progressives”. But lest anyone be duped, there is no “progress” in their plans for our countrymen. Instead, their brand of “hope and change” is a hope to change us back some 250 years, in reversing our hard-fought advance to the rights and liberty Americans came to enjoy in the mid-1900’s. Truthfully, our radical Liberal leadership hopes to “regress”. Americans will someday recognize and start calling these people for what they really are – “Regressives”. The Progressive image was, and continues to be, a deception. Positioning himself as a Progressive, Obama skewed the truth. Obama lied.

Hope and Change Illuminated

Hope.

Shameless Liberal pandering to “hope” was a calculated attempt to advantage emotion over reason. In the struggle between heart and mind that afflicts us all, can we really trust emotion ? Liberals used the internal crisis of heart against mind as “an opportunity to do things we never thought we could do before”.

 

Change

“Change” is merely a Madison Avenue positioning of the “transformation” that Obama spoke about on Chicago National Public Radio in 2001. Interestingly, “change” would become both an extreme makeover and a makeover of the extreme. And ironically, ObamaChange would reinforce Rev. Martin Luther King’s concept of change as expressed in his statement, “I believe that what self-centered men have torn down, other-centered men can build up.”

Obama, the Stimulator

It is becoming increasingly apparent that the Economic Stimulus action taken by Obama was really a Spending package. Most of the jobs created under so-called “economic stimulus” are either government jobs, temporary jobs of less than 24 months duration – or both !   To get support for $780 billion in “stimulus”, Obama promised that unemployment could be held to 8%, or less. As of November 2009, unemployment had climbed to 10.2%. Taking a page out of Chicago politics, the overwhelming majority of “stimulus” funds would be held back for distribution in 2012 to stimulate Obama’s re-election – not the economy. In 2008, Obama spent $730 million to buy votes – in 2012, his re-election spending increases almost 1000-fold to well over $700 billion. Nothing like getting re-elected on the taxpayer’s dime. Some stimulus ! Obama lied.

Obama, the Tax Stabilizer

As a candidate, Obama promised there would be no tax increase for 95% of Americans – all of those with annual incomes below $250,000. After an Obama promise to eliminate spending earmarks, he approved the $780 billion Economic Stimulus bill, loaded with 8,000 earmarks. Taxpayers have never seen so much pork. The gullibility index has fallen, and only the most naïve Americans still believe that they will not see higher Federal taxation. Taxes will be disguised with names like fees, penalties, value added . . . etc. Businesses will pass their higher taxes through to consumers in higher product and service prices, while Liberals perpetuate the myth that businesses will bear the burden of skyrocketing Federal spending. Obama could not tell voters that their taxes would rise significantly without compromising his candidacy, so he lied.  

Obama, the Economic Savior

While Federal taxes are climbing, states and municipalities are under pressure to also increase taxes to offset lower revenues resulting from economic weakness. Also, inflation will skyrocket when hundreds of billions of dollars from monetized debt (massive foreign borrowings plus the running of money printing presses 24/7) eventually enter into consumer markets. Thirdly, wage/salary increases have slowed almost to a complete halt.

Therefore, lowered after-tax income, in concert with declining purchase power of the dollar, presents a “perfect storm” scenario that will hit Americans hard and cause great anguish. A whopping 2/3 of our economy is consumer driven. What is going to happen when 95% of the population has less disposable income to sustain our economy ?   In the context of economic advisors who most certainly saw economic storm clouds on the horizon, Obama promised a healing of our economy in order to secure votes. Obama lied.

Obama, the Author

To enhance his image to American voters as a brilliant writer and a fine mind, Obama represented that he wrote Dreams from my Father. Small problem – the book was actually ghostwritten by Obama’s good buddy and anarchist/seditionist, Bill Ayers according to American Thinker’s September 29, 2009 article titled, Unmasking Obama. Misrepresentation to gain advantage looks a lot like cheating. Again, Obama lied. 

Obama, the Transparent

By definition, the objective of Obama’s culture of lying is to hide the truth from voters to permit duping of the more gullible elements of our society.   Candidate Obama asserted that he would televise healthcare deliberations on TV’s C-SPAN to make the process transparent to Americans. Post-election, healthcare legislation is being held behind closed doors – out of sight of those who will be greatly affected – to allow Obama to intimidate and threaten insurance companies and other entities to force their support of ObamaCare. Obama and his ilk cannot go public because their grab of 1/6 of our economy cannot pass scrutiny. Congress and Administration are posturing for the mother of all transfers of power – from the American people to a rabidly power-hungry Obama. They can ill afford to allow Americans transparency that would certainly reveal their shameless subjugation of a free people. Another lie to facilitate getting elected.

Obama, the Pacifist

Playing to his radical Liberal base of supporters, candidate Obama emphasized his opposition to the Iraq war. After his election, Obama finds war in Afghanistan necessary to preclude the reconstitution of terrorist organizations. Candidate Obama packaged and sold himself as against war to get elected. Again, cheating. And again, Obama lied.

Obama, the Defender

Obama held up his right hand and swore to “defend and protect” the United States. Since beginning his job, Obama has gone on “apology tours” to advertize to the world what a bad collection of people Americans are, and the manifold sins we have committed to diminish humankind. Is this what Obama had in mind when he swore before millions of people that he would defend us as a people ? Obama lied.

Barack Obama has demonstrated a pattern of aversion to telling the truth. A number of websites are tracking his record of lying. A Google phrase search of “Obama lies” brings up 172,000 listings -- and growing. And the public appears to be recoiling from the dearth of honesty on the national stage. In the face of a pervasiveness of lying whose scope is large to the extreme, Americans are abandoning newspaper and network media due to their desertion of conventional journalism that watched for and warned of any governmental overreaching. “Ignorance is bliss” is out of fashion; balanced and fair reporting is in fashion. New York Times, ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, and CNN are out; FOX News, blogosphere, and Talk Radio are in. 

Question: Why does Liberal talk radio consistently fail ?

Two explanations figure into the answer. No one phones in to Liberal network TV. However, talk radio is continuously challenged and scrutinized by callers. Liberal philosophy is based upon lies and is difficult to sustain with a call-in format.

As previously noted, network TV’s lack of fair and balanced reporting has fallen out of favor with a public hunger for truthful information. And the resulting stubbornly low levels of listenership have discouraged sponsorship of Liberal talk radio.

Governmental lying likely found its genesis in covering official corruption to allow politicians to get re-elected, while providing cover for continued corrupt indulgence. Under the cover of lying, they could have it both ways. Re-election perpetuated their power, while continued participation in corruption sustained their prosperity. Later, the American people voted to bring Chicago’s system of machine politics to Washington DC. Radical Liberal takeover of our country’s leadership provided the uninitiated citizen a quick introduction to a glorious corruption.

Just as terrorism depends upon state (i.e., government) sponsorship for its sustainability, corruption also depends upon state sponsorship for its viability. Government and corruption form a symbiotic relationship. Government supports continuation of corruption and, in turn, politicians and officials profit from contributions and kickbacks from corrupt organizations. It’s the quid pro quo. ACORN is a great example. ACORN is being investigated for voter fraud, counseling clients how to lie to the IRS, and providing counseling for the sex trade using underage girls. Obama told ACORN (12-1-07) that they would have a place at the table and “will help shape the agenda for the next presidency”. The corrupt Congress wants to continue to give ACORN billions of dollars through over a dozen associated “front” organizations. You will never see Liberal abandonment of ACORN’s endemic corruption – it is too profitable to Liberal politicians.

Corruption is costly. It presents a parasitic burden on its host society. Corruption is a tax on the ignorant. Nevertheless, all taxpayers and taxpaying entities are forced to fund corruption to perpetuate its continuation.

Convenient Lies – and Their Inconvenient Truths

“Saved jobs”                                               

There is no such thing as a “saved job”. The number of jobs saved due to any action is a pure guess. Cooked-up saved jobs numbers are designed to place a spin on gross failure of so-called “stimulus”. The more jobs they “save”, the higher unemployment goes.

“Eliminate Waste”

The Federal government has no interest whatsoever in reining in waste. By definition, their funding of state-sponsored corruption is waste. “Eliminate waste” is nothing more than a device to dupe the more gullible elements of the citizenry. “Eliminate waste” is also used as a euphemism for cutting $500 billion from Medicare for our senior citizens’ health care.

“Without stimulus, it would have been worse”

Uncontrolled spending has been given the politically correct name of “stimulus”. Skyrocketing spending kicks the can down the road to future generations. Obama & Company cannot “man up” – when he swore to defend and protect the United States of America, that did not include defense of future generations of Americans.

“My door is always open” (9-9-09 statement)

The opposite is true. Obama’s door is closed to any dissenting views. Over 800 health care ideas were submitted – and rejected, because they countered Obama’s agenda. His statement, “We should work together to address any legitimate concerns.” is voiced to cover Obama’s absolute unwillingness to deviate from grabbing government control.

“Government controlled health care will cost less”

Government is nowhere near as efficient as a free market in delivering health care. Obama knows that the courts will force the extension of free (it is not really free at all – another lie) health care to cover illegal aliens as California courts have already done – twice. Unfunded mandates have shoved California to the brink of insolvency, and Obama wants to expand this crisis to the entire country. Government Medical will cost Americans more – a lot more.

Looming Dark Clouds of “Payback Time”

Barack Obama is an equal-opportunity disaster. Every demographic grouping is going to get hit hard by Obama’s radical liberal policies.

Are you young ? You will live a life under the slavery of debt. You will pay high taxes over your complete lifetime to repay Obama’s uncontrolled spending. Even though you are healthy, you will be forced to purchase expensive health insurance – and get fined if you do not. A blessing of past generations has been that medical advances have led to increasingly longer lives than previous generations. But not for you ! Here is what Obama buddy and economic adviser Robert Reich said in a September 2007 speech to students at UC Berkeley: "Also, I'm going to use the bargaining leverage of the federal government in terms of Medicare, Medicaid – we already have a lot of bargaining leverage – to force drug companies and insurance companies and medical suppliers to reduce their costs. What that means, less innovation and that means less new products and less new drugs on the market which means you are probably not going to live much longer than your parents. Thank you." You want to make your own choices, while Obama and his fellow elitists do not trust you to make decisions and therefore will not allow individual discretion. Obama owes his election to strong youth support and the time has come for you to collect your reward . . . young people, prepare to get your behinds kicked.

Are you a senior citizen ? Obama is working to destroy Medicare. As Lyndon Johnson raided the Social Security trust to fund the Viet Nam War, Obama will renege on the Medicare “contract with older Americans” by taking from it to fund health care for illegal aliens – a “right” protected by two California rogue courts, thus establishing legal precedent. As the ranks of seniors swells from the Baby Boom, ObamaCare will reduce Medicare by $400 to $500 billion. Obama and his ilk have witnessed how unfunded mandates have financially destroyed the State of California and hope to take a similar approach to destroy the United States economy. Rationing under ObamaCare promises that elderly Americans will not get the health care that they have worked all of their lives to earn. Seniors’ fixed incomes will come under assault like they could never have imagined. In an audio recording from a September 2007 speech to an audience at the UC Berkeley, Robert Reich, economic advisor for Obama reveals the "truth" about health care: " . . . if you're very old, we're not going to give you all that technology and all those drugs for the last couple of years of your life to keep you maybe going for another couple of months. It's too expensive . . . so we're going to let you die." As seniors advance in age and require increasing medical care, they will be judged to have less value than young medical patients. Your value to ObamaCare is determined by how much you can consume to stimulate economic activity. And you are devalued since your declining lifespan translates to less consumption. Now that Obama has your vote, you are no longer of value. The large numbers of seniors who enthusiastically gave Obama their votes will come back to kick them in their rears.  

Are you female ? Breast cancer incidence in American women is an eye-popping 1 in 8. Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in women today (after lung cancer) and is the most common cancer among women, excluding nonmelanoma skin cancers. Cancer is an aggressive disease, which must be treated aggressively to increase probabilities of successful outcomes. Cancer survival rates will tank under ObamaCare due to slow and inadequate treatment under nationwide rationing of healthcare.   Single women were especially numerous in voting for a handsome Obama, and when millions of American women begin to die needlessly as a result of ObamaCare-provided death sentences, payback time will have arrived.

Are you Jewish ? Iran’s stated goal is to destroy the Jewish homeland, Israel. Outspoken anti-Israel buddy, Jimmy Carter, has supported and defended Obama, and Obama owes Carter a political favor. Iranians are getting no pushback from Obama, emboldening their aggressive gymnastics. Obama will allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons. The Jewish community came out in large numbers to support Obama, and when an Iranian surrogate makes Tel Aviv disappear, Jewish Obama supporters will receive their reward. And Iran sponsorship will extend to their surrogates bringing nuclear weapons into the Caribbean, threatening our homeland.

Are you a labor union member ? Obama will take a page out of Michigan’s playbook and continue to destroy the domestic manufacturing sector through increasing taxation of industrial businesses. Union locals depend upon the health of host businesses for their survival. And construction companies who employ union workers will not be able to appreciably increase headcounts under Obama’s increased tax, fees, and penalties burden on businesses. As a reward for their strong support of him in the 2008 election, Obama’s anti-business policies will come full circle and kick union members in their behinds.

Are you a physician ? If the term, “Royal Flush”, means anything to you, you are the recognized royalty in America and you are going to get flushed down the tubes. ObamaCare embraces “hope and change” as its proponents hope to change physician-patient control, to government control. You are one of the three legs of increasing government control to satisfy Obama’s rabid lust for power.

At this time, Obama, with the strong support of Pelosi, Reid, Dodd, Schumer, Wrangle, Frank, Durbin, and their ilk are posturing for a hostile takeover of Health Care in America. It is inconceivable that any U.S. physician will escape highly negative consequences of Government Medical. 

Are you an inner-city resident ?  No one is paying any attention to the erosion in justice in our country. While our attentions are focused elsewhere, Regressives hope to dramatically reduce any consequences for wrongdoing. In truth, moral bankruptcy of Obama and his confederates utterly destroys their standing as any arbiter of how we should live together as a culture. Regressives do not want anyone to know that consequences are part of the natural order and cannot be abridged. Nevertheless, regressives seek to turn this natural law on its ear. A society can most easily be destroyed by anarchy resulting from depriving that culture of any semblance of justice. Inner-city residents are most vulnerable. And inner-city residents will get kicked hard.  

Are you an African American ? Obama has come to change the hope of great, great American, Reverend Martin Luther King. African Americans wanted to see Martin Luther King’s dream realized and 96% of black voters voted for Obama. In an extreme twist of irony, Obama came not to fulfill King’s dream, but to destroy it. For Obama was found to be devoid of the character of which King spoke. Obama’s vision is to use crisis as an opportunity for change, and he sees no greater crisis than to engender racism where it does not exist. While Obama claims to be a Christian, he actively engages that which God said he hates the most – stirring up dissension to destroy unity. In a greatness that can only originate from an even greater humility, Martin Luther King said, “Our lives begin to end the day we stop caring about things that matter.” That which we share in common absolutely overwhelms that which makes us different. Leading a victorious life, and maintaining a victim mindset, are mutually exclusive. For how can anyone rise to any victory when they have been “sold a bill of goods” that they are victims ? Obama promises to give you lower quality of life through rampant crime, economic disaster, depressed cultural standing through inciting interethnic crisis, and setting a horrific example, by his dearth of character, that crime really does pay. Barack Obama’s contract with all people of color was, “Vote for me and I will reward you by kicking your butts.” And this is one promise Obama is on track to fulfill.  

Are you one of our military serviceman / woman heroes ? While Obama talks a good story, his actions will support destruction of the U.S. military. Funding to support modern defense systems that our military needs to remain the world’s superpower will be dramatically reduced. Obama is vilifying intelligence critical to pose an effective deterrent and combat terrorism. And forgetting the lessons of the Viet Nam War, Obama is micromanaging the War in Afghanistan. Our heroic service personnel are being unnecessarily restrained from defeating our enemies through overly restrictive rules of engagement. Obama has misidentified the enemy as FOX News, instead of foreign powers that seek to control the world, and take America down. Unfortunately, your own Commander in Chief will be a traitor to your cause.

Are you a citizen of the United States ? Whether you are rich or poor, young or old, male or female, Obama is working to devastate your future. A declining standard of living will be consequential for most Americans from Obama’s ascendency to a position where he can exact great and lasting damage upon an entire nation. Gross overspending is certain to exacerbate runaway inflation, robbing citizens of purchasing power at the worst possible time – coincident with both stagnant wage growth and rising Federal, state, and local taxation. If it is true consumer spending drives that 2/3 of our economy, and disposable incomes of most Americans dive, what quality of economy is in our near future ? Obama appreciates majority voter support so that he can now kick everyone’s behind.      

There is a whole lot of butt-kicking goin’ on. Whether you are rich or poor, young or old, male or female, Obama will kick your backside – and you do not even need to bend over.                             

But not in our Country ! A growing number of citizens cannot learn form their past. After clearly communicating plans to radically change our country from what has brought us to the position of world superpower, voters installed a brazen radical Liberal to lead us to an uncertain future. The Kool-Aide drinkers, the apathetic, and the uniformed just “don’t get it”. American voters continued to be sloppy in the ballot box, returning failures and corrupt career politicians to office time and time again. Citizens never understood that they were guaranteeing their comeuppance through their actions and inactions. Instead of installing leadership that cared about the wellbeing and future of its citizens, voters repeatedly installed leaders who provided negative and unintended consequences. 

The concept of consequences is frequently couched in sowing and reaping, a Christian concept. But the idea that actions have consequences predates the origins of most religious thought. The existence and working of consequences was established thousands of years ago with early man’s agronomy experience. Early man noticed that when he planted beans, he later harvested beans – not corn. And there is a delay between action and result. So Americans came to the mistaken belief that consequences delayed, are consequences denied. Obama is – and will continue to be, long after leaving office – a train wreck that keeps on giving. 

Greek philospher, Aristotle, a student of Plato and teacher of Alexander the Great, was the first to create a comprehensive system of Western philosophy, encompassing morality, logic and politics. Aristotle said that poetic justice is a device in which vice is ultimately punished, and is intimately related to personal conduct.   He said that poetry is superior to history in that it shows what should or must occur, rather than merely what does occur. Poetic justice does not merely require that vice be punished, but also that logic triumph. 

Nevertheless, sloppy voting is somewhat self-correcting. It is reasonable to assume that a majority of in-the-tank Obama supporters will withdraw that support after Obama has kicked them in their behinds, slapped them upside their heads, and then kicked their backsides once again. A very wise King Solomon said, “Sometimes it takes a painful experience to make us change our ways.” Painful consequences appear to be our sole path to redemption.

Illuminating Demonization – the Politics of Destruction 

The commandment, "love thy neighbor",inspires all law that relates to how we live together as a community, nation, and world.  In contrast, radical Liberals accept the destruction of their neighbors.  They assent to destruction of both the unborn and personal destruction of the born.  Here is a sampling of their long record of personal destruction:

President Ronald Reagan – After trashing the economy of the United States, Jimmy Carter had no record to run on in 1980. Instead of running on his abysmal record, he painted his opponent as the devil incarnate. After Reagan asked Americans, “Are you better off now than you were four years ago?” he won over Carter in a landslide victory.

Judge Robert Bork – in a 1987 speech that was void of accuracy, Ted Kennedy defamed, “Robert Bork's America is a land in which women would be forced into back-alley abortions, blacks would sit at segregated lunch counters, rogue police could break down citizens' doors in midnight raids, schoolchildren could not be taught about evolution, writers and artists could be censored at the whim of the Government, and the doors of the Federal courts would be shut on the fingers of millions of citizens . . . “ 

Vice President Dan Quayle – was lambasted and belittled for making oral miscues similar to those commonly made by Vice President Joe Biden today – with no similar trashing.  

Supreme Court Judge Clarence Thomas – An attempt to destroy Thomas by a high-tech lynching and caricaturization by a committee of the U.S. Senate during his confirmation hearings. Thankfully, Judge Thomas was confirmed to sit on the Supreme Court.

Joe, the Plumber – During the 2008 campaign, Joe the Plumber challenged the Liberal concept of redistribution of wealth and Liberals dug up dirt on him with the intent of personal destruction. 

Concerned American Citizens – After taking power, Barack Obama transformed from a Centrist candidate to a radical Liberal administrator. He quickly took the Country down the road of uncontrolled spending, and millions of citizens became deeply concerned about their slavery to a mountain of debt. When concerned Americans rose up to exercise their First Amendment “right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”, Obama, his operatives, and in-the-tank Congressional leaders mounted scathing attacks, labeling citizens as terrorists, extremists, Nazis, mobs, evil mongers and other demonizations. 

Physicians – Obama wants to take control over the medical business. Following the takeover of automotive manufacturing to create Government Motors, Obama wants to create another GM – Government Medical. Obama has cast physicians as money-grabbing demons, willing to unnecessarily amputate limbs to profit from unsuspecting patients.

Insurance Professionals – Obama wants to put insurance companies out of business by setting up the Federal government to compete against them. When insurance companies object to Obama moves to kill off their businesses, they are demonized.

FOX News – Bill O’Reilly made the truthful observation, “The Obama Administration is fighting harder against Fox News than the Taliban”. Obama wants FOX News completely defeated, while Obama and his ilk think brutal Taliban murderers represent the government of Afghanistan. But they don’t think FOX News or its viewers have a legitimate viewpoint. Attack on FOX News by Obama operatives contrasts sharply with candidate Obama’s rhetoric about “disagreeing without being disagreeable,” and “moving beyond bitterness and pettiness and politics of division” and “… I think that’s part of how democracy is supposed to work. You know, we’re not supposed to all be in lockstep here.” Obama’s attack on FOX News shines a telling spotlight on the hypocrisy at the heart of his administration.

Chamber of Commerce – Obama is maximizing the fact of his incumbency in dealing with persons and organizations known to be active in their opposition to his administration. Stated more bluntly, a growing use of the available federal machinery to screw political enemies. The Obama administration declared war on the largest lobbying organization, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.   He is determined to demonize those who dare criticize administration’s policies. A Chamber lobbyist was quoted that Obama is picking a high-profile fight with his group because, given Democratic supermajorities, Obama “needs an enemy” to blame for the difficulty he’s having in getting his policies approved.  A second reason is that Obama is running low on enemies: He’s already bought off many of the most powerful industries. After attacking insurance companies, Fox News and the U.S. Chamber Commerce, who will be the next target of Obama’s anger ?

Radio Host, Rush Limbaugh – When Rush was invited to join a group to buy the St. Louis Rams franchise, a Wall Street Journal article revealed that Liberal MSNBC fabricated quotes, attributed to Rush to paint him as a racist. The nuclear weapon of choice, to destroy anyone who opposes Obama’s radical Liberal agenda, is the race card.

Demonization is a killer of truth. Rev. Katherine Ragsdale points out, the “practice to deceive and to cut off debate with spurious claims” leaves us “unable to know what to believe, how to speak in order to he heard, how to struggle together to discern the truth.”

Sarah Palin – With Obama’s popularity tanking, Liberals fear Sarah Palin more than they fear Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney or any other person in public life. Unable to prevail in advocacy of their radical Liberal views and policies in a right-of-center America, Liberals have targeted her for personal destruction. If you cannot prevail in debate of the issues based upon the merits of your position, you destroy the person(s) with opposing views. The venom and hate focused upon Sarah Palin has been broad in the extreme, including vicious – often aggressively savage -- newspaper, radio, TV, magazines, and Internet. And malicious assaults have unfairly targeted her family. In June 2009, David Letterman felt led to join the spiteful trashing of Sarah Palin and made sexually perverted jokes about her young daughter. Sarah Palin acted to protect her 14-year old daughter from disgusting remarks by a 62-year-old male celebrity. Sarah Palin did what any mother would do – protect her family – and compassion moved a multitude of Americans to act. An avalanche of thousands of complaints arriving at CBS and at Late Show sponsors forced David Letterman to make a public apology. 

Attacking Sarah Palin is an ill-conceived strategy. She is a regular person of no pedigree and not well suffering of elitists . . . basically, she is one of us. Public abuse directed at her will be received as an attack on Middle America.         

So great is the flood of opposition that even Sarah Palin’s own political party turned against her.   While Obama’s inner circle was hard at work perpetuating his subjugating power, Sarah Palin continued to consolidate the strength that is perfected in persecution. If after four years of spiteful assault on her character, Sarah Palin still stands – with absence of the lying, arrogance, hypocrisy, guile, and corruption common in Liberal politicians – the teaming masses will be incited to surge. Power will be swallowed up in strength.

The parallels between today's culture of personal destruction and McCarthyism of the late 1940's is very interesting:

·                   Personal destruction, like McCarthyism, is all about bearing "false witness against thy neighbor."

·                   Legitimacy of personal destruction and McCarthyism hang on the fallacy that you can hate your neighbor, while loving your country.

·                   In both personal destruction and McCarthyism, opinions are often given credence despite inconclusive or questionable evidence, and claims of the attacker are often greatly exaggerated.

·                   Both phenomena affect all levels of society – making everyone vulnerable to attack – and were / are the source of a great conflict in the United States.

·                   And both constitute a purposeful erosion of our foundation by striking at our basic rights as guaranteed under our founding documents.

·                   The objective of personal destruction, like that of McCarthyism, is the silencing of the person through character assassination.

·                   Both are not subject to law and are constrained only by the pure conscience and a kindness which hungers and thirsts for the ultimate good.  Therefore, both comprise a framework that over-arches a societal law based upon love of God, neighbor, and country. 

Personal destruction is particularly nasty. Liberals’ culture of personal destruction continues the theme of arbitrary selection – abortion arbitrarily decides which babies live and which die; financial bailouts arbitrarily decide which companies survive and which are allowed to close; pulling the plug on life-sustaining health care on the elderly arbitraily decides which persons have continuing financial value to the state; personal destruction arbitrarily selects who among us will have their character assassinated. In Darwinian natural selection, survival of the fittest is favored, while arbitrary selection often deprives the survival of the brightest and best America has to offer. Arbitrary selection appeals to a depravity below even our most basic instincts.

Arbitrary selection finds its origin in Liberal philosophy.  The individual characters of radical Liberals cannot be defamed, because they posess an ethical and moral bankruptcy. Being void of anything approximating character, it seems reasonable to assassinate the character of those who are governed by God-ordained values. It can be said that "not all Liberals are character assassins, but all character assassins are Liberals." Liberals cannot be accused of having no vision.  Their vision is a pathway to power which tramples over – and vigorously stomps upon – America's foundation as expressed in our founding documents.  Like weasels, Liberal character assassins do their deed and then slink off under the cover of free speech, abusing a basic right as an occasion for personal destruction.

Having sold their character so cheaply in power-at-any-cost pursuit, radical Liberals like Obama would take that which is of great value – a person’s good name. The common theme of all demonizations is either gain or perpetuation of power. In a subjugation of civility, the ultimate demonization is race, in a trashing of no less than Reverend Martin Luther King’s dream that all mankind would someday be judged by the content of their character, not by the color of their skin. King’s dream was sacrificed along with men’s reputations for a shallow purpose – to build ephemeral foundations of power.

Fundamental Change

It is very unfortunate that many in GOP leadership have attempted to destroy Sarah Palin. Republican leaders and Liberals dislike her for the same reason – she too conservative. Liberals and Moderates have hijacked the Republican Party and have all but destroyed the political and philosophical differentiation the GOP once offered. The Republican Party is poised for self-destruction, not unlike all the Liberal newspapers, hemorrhaging readerships due to their unwillingness to honor conventional journalism, while continuing to enthusiastically manifest an unwavering Liberal bias.  Kool-Aide drinkers are not of modern invention. A question of the ages is “Why are people intent on their self-destruction ?”  Even our Creator asked, “Why do you want to die ?” through the prophet Ezekiel, over 2500 years ago.

Elected officials bow to their party first, followed by entities that provide financial support and then, finally, to the citizens they are supposed to serve. This is not government of, by, and for the people. Bob Williams of Oberlin, Ohio offers this insight: “ . . . major parties are not prizing ideological purity. Our nation's two-party system is not working. The dilution of ideological differences between the major parties has resulted in a professional class of word pushers who represent two sides of the same coin, which makes jumping sides less problematic. This Democratic-Republican cartel empowers the elected officials to continue holding power, which is bad for democracy but profitable for monopolists in partnership with the government. Until third parties such as the Libertarian and Green parties can break the ruling two-party monopoly in politics, many of us will remain disenfranchised.”

The Doug Hoffman candidacy in New York district 23 signals that a fundamental change is coming. People are beginning to understand that putting party ahead of soul is a recipe for disaster. By definition, when you vote for the least of two evils, you always get evil. Perhaps Doug Hoffman framed the dilemma best when he said, “If the Republican Party is not going to be Conservative, we are going to run against them.” The number of Independents is growing, and their ranks are increasingly deciding elections. And recognizing the merits of placing principles and positions over politics, many communities are actively considering non-partisan voting. Parties betting on political pragmatism will increasingly find themselves marginalized.

Why is Obama & Company terrified to the point of hysteria about Sarah Palin ? 

Obama’s Inability to Carry out His Oath to " . . . preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States."

Ten months into Obama’s term, we have already seen premeditated terrorism with the attack and murder of 13 unarmed countrymen at Fort Hood. At least two candidates opposing Obama in the 2008 general election pointed to Obama’s unpreparedness to effectively address armed aggression upon our country. But a voting majority put him in office anyway. Recall that Obama buddy, Jimmy Carter, was not able to free 53 American hostages who were held hostage in Iran for 444 days. Fearing that a Conservative President Ronald Reagan would show them America’s terrible swift sword, Iran released the hostages 20 minutes after Reagan was sworn in as President. The retribution a United States aircraft carrier battle group can exact gives new meaning to the word “awesome”. By contrast, Obama’s weakening of our CIA and his loathing of our military invite foreign-sponsored aggression upon our country. And while Obama focuses much of his energy and attention upon concerned Americans who come with signs to protest irresponsible government, a different kind of terrorist lurks in the shadows to come with a force more potent, and at a time of their choosing. Here is the contrast: while media reports Obama making nice to the Taliban, Sarah Palin’s dispatch of David Letterman is still fresh in people’s minds. Sarah Palin has demonstrated that she is not one to take crap from anyone – and definitely not from those who would harm Americans on our own soil.

While Obama contrasts against Lincoln, Sarah Palin compares with Lincoln

·                   A narcissistic Obama loves himself; Sarah Palin – like Lincoln – has a genuine affection for people. Historians universally agree that Lincoln truly cared about people, and he often demonstrated that love for others. People see Sarah Palin’s caring nature and return a great affection for her.  

This is not trivial. Much of government has been afflicted by self-centered men and women. Americans yearn for leadership that cares for people. While Obama offered an empty hope, demonstration of the powers of love and faith will draw a great swell – a surge – in enthusiasm. Obama’s hope lasted for less than one year; Lincoln’s love has endured for over one hundred years, and will continue to future generations.

·                   Obama is void of the “content of … character” that Reverend Martin Luther King spoke about at Lincoln’s Memorial; Sarah Palin – like Lincoln – demonstrates high morals and ethics in the conduct of her life and in relating with others. Lincoln was “honest Abe” to generations of Americans. People hunger and thirst for a return to the honesty that Sarah Palin can deliver.

·                   Obama seeks power to satisfy his own lust; Sarah Palin – like Lincoln – used power for the ultimate good of the people she served. Lincoln saved our union, and in doing so, freed a people from the bonds of slavery. People sense that Sarah Palin shares their values and would administer for the ultimate good of Americans.

·                   Lincoln’s story of overcoming was a look back to America’s beginning of thirteen states breaking free from an appreciably more powerful England. Many are the stories of underdogs – snatching victory out of tenuous situations – that have gripped our imaginations. We have front-row seats and input to the outcome as another David and Goliath story unfolds before us, in our time. The Goliath here is playing with the immense power and authority of the Federal Government, with billionaire George Soros, the preponderance of network TV and national newspapers, and a host of others arrayed against David – played by a private citizen and ex-Governor.   

Sarah Palin presents a stark contrast to the pathetic female role models offered by the Liberal persuasion. 

Hillary Clinton – the only First Lady in history to be indicted for wrongdoing. As a central character during the scandal-ridden Clinton administration, she provided no ethical push-back and no assumption of any moral high ground. She tried to cram HillaryCare down our collective throats until Senator Robert Dole gave us grid-lock when we really needed it.

Nancy Pelosi – Speaker of the House, demonized our countrymen, while working hard to make citizens pay more for less (rationed) health care. In an effort to dupe the more gullible elements of our society, Pelosi renamed ObamaCare’s “Public Option” as “Consumer Option”. Pelosi and her ilk have embraced Chicago politics and are glorified scam artists. They cannot get traction with their stand on issues, so they resort to prolific lying to the American people. After 2008 campaigning on the national level based upon no tax increases for those earning less than $250,000, the health care overhaul bill produced by House Democrats would impose an array of new taxes, fees and government mandates on major players in the health industry, including insurers, doctors and drugs and medical devices makers. They hope that taxpayers are too ignorant to understand that these increased costs of doing business will be passed along to all Americans in higher medical care charges. And Pelosi attacked the CIA – those on the front lines, who work hard to protect us citizens against terrorism. 

Pelosi joined the complaining about Sarah Palin’s clothing.  Pelosi wants you to reduce your carbon footprint. She wants you to drive smaller cars. And this is the same woman who thought people should just hire security guards instead of buying a gun. And Congress is angry with auto executives flying private planes. So Nancy’s lieutenants ordered her a USAF Boeing 757. Pelosi wasn't happy with the small private jet that comes with the Speaker's job. Pelosi was distressed that this much smaller jet had to stop to refuel, so she ordered a 200-seat jet that could get her to California non-stop !   What does Pelosi's gas guzzling jet cost hard working American Taxpayers, for the thousands of gallons of fuel every week ? She only works 3 days a week. So she flies home to California every Thursday at a cost to the taxpayers of about $60,000 one way!   Then we have to pay to bring her back on Monday night ay another $60,000. Pelosi’s Boeing 757 jet guzzles $480,000 per month, or an annual cost to the taxpayers of $5,760,000.   This figure does NOT include cost of plane or crew – just fuel !   Thus, this woman, who heads up the most do-nothing Congress in the history of this country, keeps fueling that jet while doing nothing. Pelosi’s arrogance and hypocrisy are supersize in the extreme. Government Media is corrupt and do not want to call her out.

Barbara Boxer – U.S. Senator, demonstrates great arrogance and self-centeredness by publicly disrespecting Brigadier General Michael Walsh. Her displayed contept for a man in uniform was beyond contemptable. And turning on her own constituents by shutting off job-sustaining water supplies to the Central Joaquin Valley, put 30,000 people out of work.

Jennifer Granholm – Governor, was successful in valting her state of Michigan to the top of the list in statewide unemployment by imposing the largest state tax increase in history on individuals and business, during a period of great economic stress. According to a Washington Post article, Granholm has already lost over 600,000 Michigan jobs and is expected to loose another 300,000 jobs. Granholm’s breath-taking incompetence is expected to loose over one million jobs, and she has been credited by many for leading the destruction of Michigan’s economy.

Anita Dunn – hired gun, directed by the White House to attack and destroy FOX News, the only remaining fair and balanced news source in network TV. Her resume includes Mao Tse Tung as a favored source of inspiration. This Mao character was the guy who was competing with USSR despot Joseph Stalin for #1 in the Guiniess Book of World Records for the most people murdered by a person.

Maxine Waters – U.S. Congresswoman, and dyed-in-the-wool Liberal, in a slip of the tongue, stated that she and her ilk want to Socialize America. Waters is under investigation by an ethics committee to look into she played an unfair role in getting bailout money for a bank where her husband had been a director.

Sarah Palin is one of us.

Like Lincoln, she traces her humble beginnings to rural America. She is one of us. Unlike most of those career politicians who feign to represent us, Sarah Palin is not a Washington politician. To the Washington elite, she is an outsider. While pundits paint her as too down-to-earth – even “homespun” – people know that she is genuine. 

Sarah Palin is the hope of America to end to rampant corruption in government.

Sarah Palin brings a framework of ethics and values to government. She represents a breath of fresh air in a time when public service is exploited as a pathway to wealth through increasingly common corruption.

Sarah Palin’s values are Conservative, in the image of Reagan.

American Thinker wrote, “Palin evoked Ronald Reagan, mentioned the importance of establishing sharp contrasts with opponents, and stressed the primacy of principle over party. Palin continues to be the antithesis of the trivial politician. She has that unique ability to convey the highest sense of personal honor without ever projecting any of the usual political pomposity.”

Memories linger . . . radical Liberals like Obama are mindful of the election blowout of Jimmy Carter. Consider the sorry figure of Jimmy Carter, whose past has condemned him to ceaselessly roam to seek rehabilitation of his pathetic image.  Like Jimmy Carter before him, Barack Obama also reached the top with a dearth of experience.  And thus, like Jimmy Carter, Barack Obama does not know what he is doing.  In the tradition of Marley’s Ghost in the Charles Dickens classic, A Christmas Carol, Obama’s actions will condemn himself to wander endlessly to seek recovery from a life lived unto himself, for the selfish pursuit of brazen power. 

Sarah Palin is a walking rebuke.

ObamaChange has thrust us into a world that is openly hostile to a moral point of view.  William Barclay frames the human condition well: “Righteousness always provokes hostility in the minds of those whose actions are evil.  The reason is that the good person is a walking rebuke of the evil person. Even if they never speak a word to one another, the good person’s life passes a silent judgment.” 

Since Regressives are not able to challenge Sarah Palin on the issues, they feel led take the route of personal destruction. Since “Mother” has repeatedly been voted as the most respected profession in America, it is problematic for Regressives to assail her for that that role. David Letterman and others have tried that approach, and have failed miserably. Her life’s roles demonstrate the principle, “He who is faithful in little, will be blessed with much” – not a bad foundation for the kind of leadership that advocates for people’s betterment and well being.  

The influences on Obama’s life comprise a who’s who of the radical leftist movement, and it has become glaringly apparent that Obama is a willing participant in that movement and has spent most of his adult life deeply immersed in it. Obama and his followers are not nice people. They approve of / assent to:

Lying – dishonesty is perfectly acceptable to defend the indefensible or to cover over previous lies. Integrity is out; dishonesty is in.

Cheating – using dishonest means to achieve your aims is perfectly acceptable.

Thievery – it is morally acceptable to take a man’s good name, property, wealth, rights, liberties, and sacred honor. 

Murder – Your life is of little value to this crowd. If they cannot destroy you before you are born, they will assassinate your character, or pull the plug on your life-sustaining care when you become old. These poor excuses for humanity want to be able to destroy you at any point in your life.

When Barack Obama addressed a joint session of Congress in September, regarding ObamaCare, he used the word, “character” four times – clustered in the last 20% of his speech. But interestingly, all four references were in the context of corporate character – national character. None of the four mentions were associated with individual character. Due to his lack of individual character, Obama cannot talk about this concept, for which he has no identification. By orphaning individual character, Obama has created the paradox of national character without values. The morality that informs character is inconsequential.

Disappointment over Obama has given our countrymen a heightened appreciation for the greatness of Rev. Martin Luther King. Reverend King could speak about character on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial because, like Lincoln, he embraced values and moral precepts. Historians will point to his imperfections, forgetting that he was a mortal and never portrayed himself to be like God. Martin Luther King is invariably presented in the secular media as “Dr. King”, but he was much, much more. He was Reverend King – a minister of the gospel. He carved out an American demographic and advocated for their elevation to equality. Reverend Martin Luther King stands in a long line of patriots who labored for liberty. And although no longer with us, the principles he espoused are in ascendency.

In less than one year, Obama has surpassed Jimmy Carter in incompetence. Obama has an opportunity to overwhelmingly surpass Carter by adding unprecedented corruption to his resume. Obama got upset when a South Carolina congressman identified him as a liar – when his greater concern should be the possibility of revealing him as a crook. President Richard Nixon felt led to publically assert that he was not a crook. Obama’s record of subterfuge is pushing him ever closer to similar public declaration.

Obama has managed to pervert the abiding faith, hope, and love that the apostle Paul spoke about . . . faith by falsely masquerading as a Christian, hope by hijacking the internal crisis of heart against mind as “an opportunity to do things we never thought we could do before”, and love by sacrificing the ultimate good of others to seek his own prestige and power.

Late 1800’s – Liberty’s Progression

Lady Liberty welcomed huddled masses – millions of immigarnts -- with her lamp beside the golden door. Her visage derives from Libertas, ancient Rome's goddess of freedom from oppression. Her raised right foot is on the move, symbolizing liberty and freedon not standing still, but moving forward. Her left foot tramples broken shackles at her feet, symbolic of freedom from oppression. Her torch projects forward in time to an enlightenment that would come. Thus, a lady standing beside America’s door offered the promise of a day when women would enjoy voting and all of the other rights of citizenship.

Early 1900’s – Equality’s Progression

Greater equality in rights would come to women after a great struggle to raise womankind to an equality with men – a period of social strife and conflict virtually all Americans have forgotten, and a painful past that few appreciate. In 1800s America, women were not permitted to vote, give evidence in court, and did not have the right to speak in public before an audience. And when a woman married, her husband legally owned all she had, including her earnings, her clothes and jewelry, and her children. A glimpse of the struggle for equal standing for all women can be gleaned by viewing the HBO move, Iron-Jawed Angels. Their names ebb into obscurity under the sands of time, but their works forever stand as a foundation for a future time when equality would progress. 

Mid 1900’s – Humanity’s Progression

The year after recognition of women’s suffrage by enactment of the 19^th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, the long tradition of Miss America began. To be sure, the Miss America institution has had its share of critics. Many have been critical of the image the pageant has portrayed, while the larger good has been woefully ignored. What was understood at its origin about its mission has faded.

She “ . . . represents the highest ideals. She is a real combination of beauty, grace, and intelligence . . . She is a type which the American Girl might well emulate . . . a role model to young and old alike . . . intent on making a difference in people's lives . . . reaching out . . . committed to helping others . . . a tradition of . . . service. “

Many of our countrymen long for the kinder and gentler culture and homespun civility of the mid-1900s. They recall the days when positive role models were more numerous than negative role models. And they would give much to once again hear Burt Parks sing, “Here She Comes, Miss America”.

Early 2000’s – Power’s Progression

George H. W. Bush’s Inaugural Address was prophetic. In the second time a U.S. President would lead the American people in prayer, he prayed, “ . . . write on our hearts these words: "Use power to help people." For we are given power not to advance our own purposes, nor to make a great show in the world, nor a name. There is but one just use of power, and it is to serve people. Help us to remember it, Lord. Amen.” 

Through the 1900’s, those with money also had power. Money allowed access to power. But in the early 2000’s, the power paradigm underwent inversion. Power would shift from the ends of the means, to the means to an end. Power would allow control of virtually limitless wealth. Without that control, the transformative change of redistribution of wealth would be problematic. Alas, power was much easier to pervert than our medium of exchange – money. Thus power’s change opened opportunity for great perversion. Americans voted for a four-year night of deception, rampant corruption, and destruction. 

Then out of darkness, bright daylight . . .
